Shindodi High School

This high school serves a remote and rural part of Maharashtra. Prior to the establishment of the school, the only school in the village offered education up to 7th standard. As a result, students had to travel more than 20 kms. to pursue further education. Unavailability of convenient travel options and lack of finances to support travel to the city posed additional hurdles.

Shindodi Gram Panchayat approached SMM to establish a school in the village. In accordance, we currently operate the school out of the village community center. Plans are being made to build a school on the land that the village Sarapanch leased to us for a term of 100 years. The school building will consist of five classrooms (with a capacity of 40 students each), a computer lab, a science lab, a library, and a multipurpose courtyard. The building will be constructed using Aerocon Planes Technology that will result in a sustainable and green space. SMM started 8th standard classes in 2014-15 and added 9th and 10th standard classes over subsequent years. The school employs four teachers. In addition to providing classroom instruction, they tend to the holistic development of the students. Total number of students served during 2014-2022 is 761.
